Yet another vegasfag here. I've never been out to Mt Charlston, but I would argue that Red Rock is much closer to town, and has plenty of good campsites. If you are coming here to do some shit in town, you should try looking for a campsite that is less than an hour away from your shit. Not sure what the state/national parks are like on the east side of town tho.
Also, since this is a vegasfag thread, anyone who recognizes OC pic related, speak up. I've been wanting to climb to the top of one of these mountains for a while now, and just cant find the motivation/drive to do it alone, especially since it might involve going a bit off the trails.
