>>2466039I've lived on the gulf coast all my life and I've been through super massive to normal hurricanes. I just make sure to have a week's worth of food that doesn't need to be cooked on a stove and bottled water before the storm hits. Even after Katrina, it only took them a week to clear off the roads and get to what was left of my house. I also have a solar powered and crank power bank to charge my phone, and I have a battery powered radio.
Hurricanes aren't near as a big of a deal as they're made out to be, sometimes I'll have a foot or more of water in my downstairs and still have power to the house. Here's a picture from a tropical storm that hit a couple of years ago, didn't lose power until a bird flew into the transformer outside my house.
