Posting here in hopes that someone smarter than myself can help me find the fish in my local lake. Specifically the walleye.
I read the most recent DNR studies done on the lake and it basically says that thanks to the large factory in town having shit regulations in the 80s, the runoff destroyed the lake. There is basically no oxygen in depths over 26 feet and the phosphorus levels are very high. The lake used to have browns and rainbows in it, but they have all died off and the DNR has determined that the lake will not support them.
The DNR plants walleye every couple years and they have said in the studies that the walleye population is healthy. I'm lucky to get 5 a year out of the lake though.
Pic is best I can find of said lake at work... I color coded it - green is < 10' and red is < 20' give or take a couple feet. Anything else not color coded is generally 30'+ The lake is ~800 acres. The red spots on the map are not really all that big, but are generally where I target when I do fish it.
Any biology anons able to offer any insight as to how to fish this lake?
