Going to an actual cobbler and having both feet measured and shoes/boots made to fit each foot perfectly is a luxury many people think they do not need. It isn't all that costly when you can return to the cobbler to have the shoe/boot fixed for fairly cheap and as a result you can have footwear that can last your life time. Just stay away from cobblers who use glues as the main fastener.
