And I'm not sure the point that "all kids died at a young age" is true. I've never seen evidence for it, and books and shows and documentaries that I've seen about tribes, although living in different climates, still rely on agriculture and hunting and gathering. They don't have 10 children, and the children they have don't die. Subsaharan africa is an exception because of colonialism.
