I'm also planning on replacing some ornamental grass and hydrangeas with a patch of mixed sunflowers and putting out some hummingbird feeders. Some comments I've seen have said that they have the best success with the tacky plastic ones versus the nicer glass and metal feeders and speculated that it was because the brightly colored plastic was more attractive to the birds. Anyone have experience with hummingbird feeders?

I had always assumed that the big bees I saw were "bumblebees" but upon doing some research I found that most of them were in fact carpenter bees so I know we have plenty of them around me and I've never had issues with them being aggressive so I'd like to encourage more of them.
