I winterized my campout spot. Usually I don't put a tarp up or anything but this year I put the tarp out in June and kept it out there all year so I could always be ready to hunker-down in the rain. It's been a ton of fun being able to plan overnights out there even with rain in the forecast, cooking food over the fire, taking photos, doing field recordings under its protection.
I was going to take the tarp down today but realized I could just roll it up and lash it to the pole to keep it stored in situ, so it's ready to deploy at a moment's notice for rain, snow, etc.
Still, a bittersweet feeling.
