Mylar that actual brand name stuff reflects more like than flat white, but it is only about 10% more light reflected. Cheap off brand stuff like for emergency blankets may or may not work as well as Mylar. Also, the plastic eventually breaks down, in the sun/UV since it isn't 100% light proof. So, something with flat white will last longer in sunlight, but for grow lights the Mylar will be slightly better.
