>>1035302There are significantly more non-venomous snakes than venomous ones. So the easiest approach is get visually acquainted (online ofc) with the venomous species in whatever area you're in at the time (if you travel somewhere and intend to spend time in the wilderness, look up the snakes). Chances are there are only a couple in your area if at all.
Once you know those you can pretty quickly discern whether a snake you come across irl is one of those few venomous ones or not. And you most definitely should take the time to get acquainted with them. It's important for your safety and all the sneks out there that you don't sperg out and kill a 'harmless' beneficial snake.
But pic related is a fairly good rule of thumb, usually. You'll see this pattern as you research. There are, of course, exceptions. You shouldn't really be approaching/handling strange snakes anyway, unless you're very confident in your identification.
