>>1002612When it comes to lightweight hiking I recommend also taking a fanny pack. I generally go hiking with a combination like pic related, though only really suitable for day hiking. That backpack has lasted me 6-7 years already, including travel abroad.
Either way, a fanny pack is a good idea for someone with back problems.
