As for myself, besides the usual hiking in my homecountry ― Hungary ― this July I had the chance to do a three day long backpacking trip near the lakes of Northern Lombardy, culminating on the top of Monte San Giorgio in Switzerland.
Me and my companion only brought a backpack, a sleeping bag and a foam mat each and trusted our good luck to find abandoned buildings as shelters for both nights of the trip. We did not need to worry indeed ― Fortuna blessed us with an abandoned half-built mansion and the seaside-view terrace of an abandoned border control office. Our only misfortune was that the weather was not clear enough to see the greatest peaks of the Alpes from the mountaintop.
