Have to shill my pack
Solognac (Decathlon) x-Access 50L
Pros:
>500D, smooth fabric (no sandpaper effect on layers)
>polyester, PU coated fabric, dries quick
>bartacked and reinforced stitching in parts like straps
>good compression straps
>lightweight molle
>very useable and decently sized hip belt pockets
>awesome semi rigid internal frame. Flexible plastic, carries 15kg easily and 20kg fine. Good load transfer to hips.
>decent padding. Not very sweaty at all - grooves and mesh work well.
>comes with a well designed raincover
>under a kilogramme (!!!)
I think solognac was an independent company bought up by decathlon, and they're pretty popular with yuro hunters. Simple, tough and very well made for the price.
Oh yeah, the price
€50. Fucking peanuts for the amount of bag you get here. What would an equivalent ultralight bag from someone like ULA, Gossamer Gear etc cost? What does a Savotta cost? And this shit is made of 500D fabric to boot, so it's not dying after one thru hike.
Cons:
>Brain pocket has a small entrance. In practice this works fine but you won't fit a big map, bowl or binocs in here.
>Compression straps for brain are a little short, can't really store a big foam mat under here
>no pad attachment straps on bottom (gonna modify mine)
>brain doesn't easily line up with the drawcord interior when overpacked, exposing the thinner nylon to the rain
>no shoulder strap molle for pouches, just webbing for binos (cut mine off)
Overall 8/10 pack, 11/10 value for money.
