I am currently working on going off grid. I have built a 16 x 16 cabin which is probably too small if I could do it again I would go bigger. I built it on 10 acres in central east Texas and built it in the forest. the trees keep the house cool during the summer but im not sure what I will do about solar. I may try running a cable from some panels outside the forest to the cabin. My main desire is to have internet out there this would make everything great. I have thought about getting satellite internet from a provider like hughs net. I plan on making a out house and a propane shower and an outdoor water spicket. the place has a city hook up to water about 1/8 of a mile away so I might use that or maybe well water we shall see. I plan on getting live stock maybe goats and chickens. I am choosing the off grid life style because I cant really afford to live in the city. I am also a pretty solitary person so the seclusion of the forest is nice. I really hope everything works out. Pic related are my plans for the cabin.
