>>2155546>Can anyone share their experience? You will have no problem making 100k a day. Even if you start out at 60k a day you will double that by the second week. Don't push yourself, plan on at least one to two rest days each week.
>>2155546>What items are crucial to take with meYou will not need to carry food, just carry one 1L water bottle max and refill it (you double nagger) at the towns you pass. There are also gas stations everywhere. All you will need is shelter, stove, and repair kit.
Tent is better than hammock, you can stay anywhere if you set up after dark and leave before the sun. Look for places to sleep free such a govt land, ask at municipal buildings etc otherwise accomodations will be 90% of your costs.
A food way to find food is to camp before town then get there early and ask a local where is a good place to eat breakfast, similarly do the same for supper and camp just after town.
Risers are the best for multiple hand positions and eliminating fatigue, set your bike up so you are more upright and don't carry a backpack. I recommend a single duffel bag strapped to a back rack because everything can be removed in 2s leaving nothing to be stolen. I also tie a small bag of snacks to the handle bars so I don't have to stop to eat and can just make distance (I try to average 1000-1500km per week when touring, best is 500k in 12h), this will double your average speed.
Your repair kit should include pump, spare tubes, chain breaker and a few extra links, set of allens and an extra bolt for every size your bike uses (once had to pay $20 for two bolts that vibrated loose in the rockies because there was nowhere to get them), crescent wrench and multitool with knife, pliers/wirecutter and screwdrivers. Possibly some of those kevlar spoke repair strings. Everything but the pump and tube should be about the size of a pack of cards.
