Im in the same situation. None of my friends are ever interested in doing trips. Last summer i joined a few facebook groups and have met total strangers on three separate occasions to do trips with. one time I met a group of 3 for a 9 day canoe trip from one of these groups. It`s possible, search for groups in your area and post and ad or something.
