>>851150While diet does change the flavor and odor of animal and fish meat, carp meat flavor and odor doesn't change that noticeably. If the fish is sick, that is an entirely different matter.
However, in the USA there is a massive stigma against carp in all respects.
>>851178The only fish that I can't eat due to odor are baitfish like creek chubs and shiners. They stink way too "fishy".
>>851254>>851264>>851271I play on a Minecraft server (of all games) that has a plugin called "Interesting Fish". All it does is rename fish you catch to whatever species/name the admin gives them in a big config file list. The fish item has the name, date, time, weight, and angler's name on it. While this seems pretty passe, there happens to be something like 300 real world species the admin of the server put into the config file. It has everything from wee tiny minnow species to giant sharks and sturgeons. They are weighted in the config so that some are rarer than others. It is basically nothing, but rather addictive for some reason. Though, it can be annoying catching another sunfish or shiner for the 10th time.
