Does it make sense to tie the pole elastic directly to the tip of fishing pole and dont feed it through the rod? I have short telescopic travel pole and it seems that elastics are designed for the longer poles that you can take apart. The elastic will tangle up and stuck inside the telescopic rod when you pack it down. I would like to target bigger fish and i fear that the rods action will not be enough to battle the fish. If i use long landing net and only short piece of elastic i should be able to land the fish without pulling the elastic, right?
