This is my first real attempt at microgreens, the seeds are $1.50 worth of celery seeds from a health food store, and the tray is a $4 "mainstays" boot tray from walmart. I wanted to go soil-less so they're on white felt substrate.
>but anon, how did you space the seeds so evenly?
The celery seeds are light enough that they can't break the surface tension of the water (?) so I filled the tray up with water first, then sprinkled in the seeds, and they naturally spaced out on the surface rather than sinking. The bare spot on the right side in the middle is from the faucet blasting down onto the felt. I think the aeration from the sink impregnated the felt with lots of tiny air bubbles, so that portion of the felt wouldn't stay flat and floated up above the water line. The bare spot in the top right is from me messing with it and pouring off excess water. In reality this tray has a bunch of holes drilled in the bottom so I should have just lifted it up and out, but oh well.
