What kind of trails do you prefer, /out/? Well-maintained, easy to follow trails, or ones that are barely a faint trace? Pic related is one of the easier to see portions of the Caney Creek trail in the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas. Most of this trail was spent wondering if I was even on a trail, so I just kept heading west (then east on the return trip) until I found the trail. This was a great hike. I camped halfway down the trail, cooked tacos and read some Tolkien, and spent the next day on the less-traveled half of the trail (the first half is often combined into a ten mile loop with a mountain trail nearby.) Tons of edible mushrooms to be found, but it was the trippy mushrooms I took that made this hike even better.
