Probably the only reason I got picked to go is I was always first during pt on district (not saying much since ours wasn't highspeed or anything) and we had absolutely amazing supervisors. I talked to some other fuels guys on other forests and they only got to go out like once a season. Our supervisors were really really good about getting you out on roll if you wanted to and giving you opportunities to work on taskbooks. 2 second-year guys on my district got signed off on their fft1 taskbooks just this summer.
These were my feet about halfway through the shot roll, about day 3 on the Sharps fire in south central Idaho.
Main problem was my boots, I was wearing Carolina loggers and the composite toe and poor fit just shredded my feet. They kept getting worse after this, but fresh socks and moleskin helped with some of it.
My only advice is to buy the gucci memeboots if you are getting loggers.
