so, i made this little stove thing where i poked holes in the sides of an emptied bean can, filled the bottom with oil and sponged paper towels in. on its own 1/3 cup will burn hot and last for about an hour, but if i put my pot ontop, the holes in the side dont allow enough oxygen intake to keep the flame as hot and it doesnt work. what can i put ontop of the stove to allow air and give my pot a stand?
second of all, what is the proper protocol for the cooled ashes? are they safe to dump/bury in nature since its just burnt plant matter and oil (basically just carbon residue right)? im worried about the aluminum melting off the can though, that stuff is bad for environment isnt it?
