Let me preface this by saying I don’t have assburgers and I’m not autistic, so I’m perfectly able to understand social queues. Anything else is victim blaming.
I was recently on an multi day hike in the GSMNP. On the 4th day, I was sitting on a log at a trail intersection. My pack was next to me, and I was eating..
I heard someone approaching from a trail that led to the nearest trailhead, about 3.5 miles away. It was a woman on a day hike, maybe in her late 40’s, hiking alone.
I said hello, and asked how her hike was going. She glanced at me, and just kept going. No reply at all. Just a quick glare, followed by silence.
My first reaction was to just say “alright then bitch,” but I’m pretty restrained with insults. I also thought about throwing a stick toward her (not hitting her), because it would have been at least kind of funny.
What would /out/ have done?
