Regardless of the quality of your knives, it would be a pity to use one of these, considering a a small portable sharpening stone and an angle guide aren't that much more expensive than a pull-through sharpener, nor heavier and bulkier.
Though they certainly aren't as convenient, quick and easy to use I'll give you that.
