And unless you know how to use that radio and know how to find someone listening on the other end, you're far better off with a spot/inreach/etc for "muh emergency commos!!11!!@".
Phone/911 is still my go-to for emergencies. Calling 911 does things on both the ue and base side to make that call go through. Can also try texting "911", as PSAPs are upgraded they can often take texts now. In low-coverage areas, a text may go through where a call will not.
