We talked and peter offered to give me a tour of university of Virginia which I happily accepted since as a traveler I yearn to get an insider perspective and knowledge of the places I visit. He told me about the history, the traditions, the secret societies, even showed me the sight of where that guy ran his car through a crowd of protesters (pic related) and offered to give me a ride back up to DC the next day.
This day was probably one of the funnest days I've had in years. First he took me to a very American restaurant with all sorts of game animals on the wall and brought me some sausage, biscuits and gravy and then on the way to DC we stopped off at a gun shop where we shot an ar15. Later on he let me drive his car despite me not having a license and only ever driving once before, which was quite incredible considering how much trust he put in to me. Later on he offered me a place to stay at his families home for the night and we toured DC. He showed me a spot by Reagan airport where you can watch the planes land over your head. All in all is the coolest and most generous person I have met. When I told him about missing my flight he even offered to drive to DC in the night to pick me up and drove me back to place to stay in Charlottesville.
So that's where I am now, tomorrow I set out to finally get to Tennessee. Sorry for writing half a book but for those who want to know what's happened this last week there it is
