Not really true foraging because it's in my yard, but I've recently harvested my sour cherry (morello) trees again. Then I wash them with water, put them in a jar (don't remove the seeds, it makes them mushy) and fill the jar up with plain brandy. After a year of sitting in the brandy the flavours have mixed nicely so now you have cherry flavoured brandy to drink and soft alcoholic cherries to eat. Filled about 25 600ml jars this year. It's a nice gift to give out to friends and family.
