Regardless, they were folded a specific way then rolled up and tied. It looked and functioned like a sleeping bag, since that is what it was minus zippers. Some had buttons on them though. They are quite comfy, warm, and still a viable means of bedding for camping out even in extreme weather. You can add more or remove layers as required.
