Whole kit weighs a little over a pound, the heaviest single thing by far is the space blanket but I wouldn't go into the backcountry without it. There's an argument to leave the lip balm, secondary fire source (storm matches) and maybe lip balm at home but I'd rather carry a few more ounces than antagonize over weight weenie shit.
