Theres a /out/ poster who has me beat by a wide margin.
Hes in like ND or Wyoming or some thing (wish I could remember).
He had a thread up after a storm came through- he spent a couple days checking on neighbors and just trying to get into town.
I'm in a very rural area and surrounded by old growth forest, but its not like I'm 100 miles from another soul.
I got very lucky and am near a power line so I didn't need the solar setup (I just researched a lot of stuff so I've seen the cost on them) I could have just as easily bought another piece of land around here and would have had to spend $20,000 to get it ran to my property.
