>>500801If you're talking about all of the medieval era, In anglo saxons times the land was 70% forest so there would be a fair amount of travelling through forests. In the late medieval era (really late) , then maybe there were a large group of bandits in a forest? A "ranger" wouldn't entirely go through a forest, they would track and look for armies across the land over moors, mountains, swamp, etc. Or a ranger could just be an archer with a focus on guirrella warfare eg:ambushes, hit and run, etc
