>>1216791Here's a pair of recordings of barges in a canal lock. The first one is a single hydrophone, the second one is hydro in the left channel and contact mic on the lock gate in the right. I found fascinating the variations of sound with just the slightest changes of depth and position of the mic in relation to the canal walls, the reverberation is so complex... the eddies actually keep moving the mic in the water. In the second one the lock opens at about 3:20 and the sound of the engines immediately fades away.
