Pic related is more like what I'm used to. It's just a couple medium sized trees with an understory filled with invasive weeds like barberry and stiltgrass. That's exactly what's in the picture and that's exactly what I have in my yard too lol. Been working on cutting it back but you need to plant something there else it just comes back.
