I was walking down a path with my gun slung when I heard deer walking; I immediately shouldered my rifle and crouched down only to realize that I had stopped right behind the only fucking juniper on the entire path and had no shot. By the time I crept out from behind the bush the deer were gone despite the fact that I don't think they saw me.
