>>2454171I'm thinking of scumsteading, I work as little as possible and live in a tiny shack eating cheap food like milk, beans, and bread and basically I don't work except for a few on and off jobs a year. I'll still purchase all of the food I eat but only buy the cheapest most affordable foods and I'll have a well and some copper tubes connected to a hand pump to draw water so I can occasionally take a hot shower.
It ain't homesteading because homesteading isn't possible, it's simply cutting out every single expense that I can and being as cheap as possible.
And of course I'll shit in an outhouse, paying for a toilet just isn't worth it. The hardest part is getting a fridge / freezer, don't want an electric bill. Will get a shitty little laptop and charge it off some solar panels so I can still post online occasionally.
