gonna modify my plash-palatka tarp by making "doors" from a diy oilskin bedsheet. never done it before but seems like a fun project. not gonna cut up the plash-palatka in any way, just adding extra material, secured with toggles probably.
i figure why not also get some practice with natural dyes and dye the bedsheet. it doesn't need to be perfect colour match at all. i'm going to use nettles as the colour since they are abundant here. i've heard/read mention of using a stabiliser when dyeing, something like rusty nails, but i also see tutorials that don't use them, so i'm a little confused.
does anyone have experience with the dyeing process, or can provide links to resources? :3
