>>2201690I was predominantly going after the US Military Goretex for these reasons
>durabilitygoretex, heard goretex is durable
>camoAll my camping is illegal or less than legal, camo tends to blend in
>side zip>apparently more breathable than other bivy sacks>no loopI don't like the loops/hoops, I want it more cowboy bedroll-esk.
>widthSeems to be wider than most other bivy sacks, which is nice
The biggest downside was the lack of a mesh screen, however I can just wear the bug headnet I have.
I really want to be able to just unroll the bivy, with the sleeping bag and sleeping bag inside, like a cowboy bedroll. Keep all my clothes inside and such. This kind of system seems to work quite well with my kind of camping.
I should have mentioned in the beginning that I would pair this system with a tarp. The tarp hangs off my bike. I have cowboy camped like this before, just the sleeping bag on the sleeping pad, but obviously this doesn't work as well in windy and rainy conditions.
>>2201729I really can't find that kind of pricing for this stuff. Keep in mind I am in Canada. All of the cheap ones that are being sold on Ebay either don't sell to Canada, or charge a ton for shipping to Canada.
The cheapest I could find it was here
https://www.herooutdoors.com/u-s-armed-forces-issue-gore-tex-bivy-bag/The other option I was interested in was the OutDoor research Alpine, which is also Goretex.
The problem is these stupid fucking camping gear companies make a great product, then stop selling it after a 2 year run time.
Pic rel is what I REALLY want, but these waxed canvas bedrolls cost like $600CAD. That's no joke.
