I emailed the local authorities and asked specifically why it was closed (blowdowns, washed out bridges, impassable or unsafe conditions, etc.). Pic is the email I received. It’s just a vague reasoning.
The thing is, I’ve hiked it a few times since it was closed. There’s no reason that it should be. There are no precarious conditions, and the trail is cleared (though a little overgrown in some spots).
