>>1748281Flea beetles (I bet this is your tiny demon beetle, these fuckers make it impossible to plant eggplants for me), cucumber beetles, japanese beetles, woodlouse, slugs, cabbage worms, tomato hornworms, and squirrels.
Fucking squirrels have taken whole beefsteak tomatoes from me and they fuck up my cantaloupe every damn year. I've put up fake owls and have 4 outdoor cats, still can't stop the little fuckers. I'm going to put the cantaloupe on a trellis this year, which I hope takes care of the woodlouse problem, and I always grow enough tomatoes to spare a few losses.
Seven dust works against most of the beetles, but not the flea beetles for some reason, I don't know what works on them yet.
I put anything the slugs like on big hills and mulch the hell out of it, seems to work so far. It does increase the soil temperature and cause my lettuce to bolt faster though.
I grow my tomatoes on stakes instead of in cages and watch them diligently until they're at least as tall as I am. The hornworms only like the top foliage, and at that size they can't devastate the crop before I notice them, so I can relax a little. Also, the squirrels don't seem to like to climb the stakes too much.
I've given up on fighting the cabbage worms, I can get good cabbage and kale pretty cheap from the local farmers market.
