Hammock all the way whenever possible. I find it way more convenient to set up/take down, usually lighter to carry around, and love rocking back and forth with my feet elevated.

For me a bumpy ground means I’ll get zero damn sleep, and I normally prefer to sleep with a bunch of pillows for postural reasons, but obv can’t carry them with me camping. So I only ever get ~4hrs sleep max if I’m on the ground unless it’s sand. Sand or hammock some reason I can comfortably lay out on my back with zero pillows and sleep like baby Jesus. Objectively better experience every damn time.

Well I live in the desert about 2hrs from any good woodsy area with trees big enough for the hammock. I almost always opt to take the drive instead of taking a tent out into the desert, but yeah if you bring a hammock and there’s no trees you best start gathering sticks for a lean-to cus you’re fucked lol
