Just to end the thread before it dissapears, this is my idea of a hobo stove that I will try to make.
The ikea piece from the first image, with legs that i will just carry inside of it and screw them when I use them. And I'll use a canister as a rocket stove head with legs to support a pan and so the fire can exit better.
