>>1213709Its the Nanbokucho (large one). I probably would have gone with the Unokubi Zukuri (one with the Bo-hi) in retrospect, but I got it many years ago while in High School, and it was my first sword, so large katana was the only real option.
I like it a lot though, it's held up great the past 7 or so years. Even with some abuse. The Raptor line are some of the best entry level Katanas imo.

>>1211093), the Sharpmaker is great and simple, with some practice you can get hair popping edges... However it is not good for removing a lot of material, especially on thicker knives like an Esee. So it maybe worth getting some free hand stones to do the rough work, and then the sharpmaker for the finish work, I did this for a few years before I got my Wicked Edge.
Also, is your Mora Scandi? If so the Sharpmaker is not the best way to do it. Scandi "v" grinds are every easy to sharpen, just lay the bevel on the stone and take a few passes per side.
