Turns out the dye inside it isn't quite dry (found a touch of it on the blade after a morning in the sheath) so I'll let it dry some more.
Turned out darker than the test piece - I would have liked it a little lighter. Overall though I'm happy enough, especially as it's a first try. Leather work is pretty satisfying.
