UPDATE:
I cannot recommend wearing a dog belt enough! Wearing mine just above the belly with bungee lead and harness, it's almost as good as having the dog off the lead! Back is fine, posture perfect and there's nothing better than having your doggo pull you up hills. They should be giving malamutes to the handicapped and spastics.
