>>2007761Look for headcuts on your property, places where the water gets moving fast enough that it actually carves out a small cliff/ waterfall in a rain event and dig out a round basin where the water splashes down, you could probably bury a barrel or just dig a hole and line it with rocks, but the idea is the water fills that basin and overflows out of it, essentially slowing down the chances of erosion while also spreading the flow and slowing it down.
Once the water starts seeping out of the hole you can further slow the water down by planting stuff on the downhill side or making something like a crescent moon out of rocks that the water has to flow through.
