>>1243735>>1243737>>1243831>>1243858Boys, I'm drunk in from a nice night with the family and can't do anything but remember this friggin' fish. Yep selfishly re-posting sort of via linking my own posts but I don't care; it's amazing being able to vividly remember a good catch.
To contribute something:
Rod: Echo Base 7 weight
Reel: Ross Rapid
Line: Rio Mainstream
Leader: Rio Bass 16 Lbs
Tippet: Scientific Anglers 3x/8.5 lbs
Fly: 12x bead head olive wooly-bugger
Where: Right along the shoreline, casting parallel to shore to keep my back-cast out of the trees and tossing across a bend where I thought some fishies may be lurking in a drop-off. Small pond. Someone on a previous trip when I found the pond literally laughed and shook his head when he asked 'what sort of fish are in here, what are ya fishing for?' and I responded 'I'm not sure yet!' with a smile.
Fly fishing truly rules; I have actually recently been trying my hand at some spinning-reel finesse style presentations (Ned rigs, sllloowww senkos, etc.) and thought was pretty fun but THANK GOD I did not even bring that rig out with me that day; I'm sure for many conventional bass fishermen this fishy is probably no big whoop but for me it was fantastic.
