I think it's a combo of the jetlag, having to quit the trail, and the slow realisation that my thumb is going to take a lot longer than I thought to heal. I niavely thought it wouldn't be far off being healed a month after the operation. But here I am and it's still a long way off being even remotely healed.
Had the graft checked out today and it's looking ropey. But the surgeons say the best thing to do is leave it on and hope that new skin is growing underneath the dying bits.
I've got some stuff to keep me entertained for the week between now and my next check up. But after that I'm going to have to get /out/. Been planning some week long trips so I can get them done in between check ups. I'm just preying things are in a comfyish situation by September because at least then I can get back to the States and do the Seirra High Route. As long there aren't any early snow storms.
If I don't get any decent hiking done this season I'm going to be struggling to keep my head above water.
