I see them about once a month in the summer, usually black bears.
Every year or two during a trip up north I'll see a griz.

Black bears are huge pussies, make some noise and leave them an out, they'll remove themselves from your vicinity.
Grizzlies are a little more bull-headed, but generally don't want to fuck with you unless you have something (food) they want.
Carry bear spray and/or a firearm if you're in bear country, and set up camp to minimize the potential of interactions with bears.
>>1222705That's what most of my encounters look like. See something moving in the woods, relatively safe distance, and they're moving away from me. Every now and then they'll stop and watch me with curiosity.
