I typically carry this stove.
It's super-light, even with a small aluminum windscreen. And I carry about 6 - 8oz of fuel.
But I don't cook on it unless I have to. I typically just cook over a campfire if I can.
I also don't cook except for coffee in the morning and boiling water for a pasta side or instant mashed potatoes to go with my evening meal.
The thing about canister stoves is that they are an absolute necessity in certain situations. The ultra fast boil time and instant heat are a survival issue in winter camping and climbing. And they are the only way to cook in areas where open fire is not allowed. That shuts out solid fuel stoves, like esbit, or the alcohol stoves, and only leaves canister or white gas stoves.
