Not a fan of hammocks, I've used them on several occasions and have now switched back to a tent.
Cons:
>Colder/less protection from elements and (underquilts are expensive)
>If not setup correctly/limited tree selections in your area = uncomfortable sleep
>Harder to get in and out in general
>Getting out of wet cloths and boots while trying to stay clean/dry before you enter
>Cannot have gear/food/firearms/etc as easily available as if it where inside tent.
>Feel completely vulnerable
A good insulated sleeping pad is cheaper than an under quilt and there are tents out there that weight the same or less than a hammock. My current tent sets up faster, is lighter and smaller, and allows me to be far more comfortable.
