Depends on your intended use, I think as it came it'd have made a great butchery/hunting knife. For myself, as I mostly use my knives for woodworking, I had some micro chipping and rolling of the apex.

For an ELMAX blade it was pretty cheap. I used to have a 3'' UKPK (one of the FRN ones) but didn't like the hollow ground and ended up gifting it to my dad.

What is NOT required is a bayonet derivative.

You do not need a full guard - as you do not need to stab things when camping.

You do not need a fuller for the same reason.

Carry whatever works for you, but you'd be much better off with a puukko if you intend to do wood work.
